At Mimi's Origamis, every piece of jewelry tells a story of culture, peace, and artistry. Based in Austin, TX, we specialize in creating lightweight, elegant, and unique jewelry crafted from traditional Japanese washi paper and 14K gold-filled metals.
Growing up as a Japanese-American, origami was a big part of my childhood. It connected me to my Japanese roots and provided comfort during significant life transitions. As a mother, I found myself longing for the familiarity of this art form, which inspired me to create jewelry that celebrates my heritage.
The crane, known as tsuru in Japanese, represents peace, prosperity, and good fortune. My passion for folding these beautiful birds led to the creation of my very first piece: the double crane, symbolizing the bond between mother and child.
Each unique piece is handcrafted with love and intention, with the hope of bringing peace and good fortune to those who wear them.
